Boyo and Mozart

When Ella was a young dog, I would go out and pee on her at night once, and she tore herself on the leash and rushed off to greet another dog who was out on her nightgown a short distance away. I rushed after, embarrassed as few and apologized for my dog behaving so badly. It was the beginning of a friendship that still lasts today, just over ten years later.

Ella and it the dog were friends throughout their lives, although they could not necessarily be solved together. Ella was quite sharp, and the other dog (also a bitch) was very dominant, so we almost always hung out outdoors when we had the dogs with us. They were both absolutely fantastic dogs, but in different ways incredibly stressful, especially as young dogs. It was also basically impossible to go for walks together, among other things because Ella got so incredibly stressed about having another dog walk in front of her. In fact, she was completely intolerable to join, so it almost never happened that we did it later in the dogs' lives.

Therefore, when that it was clear that both that family and I would each get a new dog,  we decided at once that our dogs need to work together. We want to be able to meet without it being a fight. And we want to be able to go for walks without it being a constant struggle for one or both of us.

The other dog, it is the Leonberger blend Mozart that I write a little about from time to time. For quite some time now, we have decided that it doesn't automatically become mischief just because we meet. We want to be able to meet without the dogs becoming hysterical and want to start wrestling and playing at the same time. Considering that they are not that old, it probably goes a little bit like that – but practice makes perfect, and it actually gets better and better each time.

That, on the other hand going amazingly well, is to walk together. Of course they want to play, the boys, but they both do fantastically well. In fact, so much so that I almost have my chin on the hill – I'm so unbelievably fucked up. It's real, really enjoyable to walk with Mozart and his aunt.

I'm too lazy to go back a couple of posts and see if I actually wrote about it, but I have produced a noseband for Boyo. Ella's old, actually. Now that he's starting to get a little teenage moody, it feels like a fantastic thing to use to make the walks enjoyable for both of us. And you know; he walks like a dream with a noseband. I can more or less hold the leash on my little finger. Now it will not continue to be so, because soon he will figure out how it works – but it will still be better than necklaces (or harness, which I don't like at all).

Plus I looked for Ella's old hoof bag that we use on our longer walks. Already, but of course I have told you that!? Already, I think so. I remember that I wrote that there is no weight in it, just the hoof bag itself – until further notice. But he doesn't care about it at all, but walks in super stylish and neat.

I'm so incredible happy and thankful that it works so well, this with walks with Mozart. Going with Ella along with that family's previous dog was truly a nightmare. This is purely enjoyable, and it's so damn nice!!! ♥

Then they will of course get to play – also. Now they have been good for quite some time when they haven't been allowed to play (because you can't actually play every time you feel like it), that it is getting time to let them loose in the doghouse so they can run and chase each other, wrestle and have, until they are completely gone.

It's just that ascertain – there are many things that are different and different, when it comes to Ella and Boyo. I wish I could have them both.
