The first fuss

Today, Boyo and Lilo had their first major disagreement. Indeed. They have, as it were, never fussed, so for real, before. I was cooking in the kitchen and they were fooling around in the hall. All of a sudden I hear Lilo roaring and Boyo making more noise than usual. I don't know exactly why, but I guess Boyo either wanted Lilo's carrot she got from me, or that he got a little too close to her ass. He started to discover a few months ago that her butt smells different from his, namely.

Now it wasn't especially hard or difficult to break up this mess. I went out and informed them calmly and calmly that it was enough now. I think both were a little surprised that it turned out the way it did, because they gave in immediately. My suspicion is that Boyo thought he was just going to try and see how it felt to mount Lilo, because he stood over her doggy-style.

Lucky for him (and me!) that she is castrated, that's my spontaneous reaction.

It's a bit of a shame that I didn't see exactly what prompted it all, but I still think it's a good thing that Lilo blushed – regardless of what it was. She is way too nice to him, so I'm actually looking forward to her starting to speak up in earnest. He deserves it – believe me. He can be really mean to her sometimes.

Even if I stayed very surprised when it started to sound worse than usual out in the hall, I still like that things happen between them. Boyo is just over seven months old at this point. He is so slowly becoming sexually mature, and also older people in general. He needs to be put in place, and Lilo would really have to be a little tougher on him. That's why I appreciate this fight they had, although I was a little surprised.

Otherwise I can gossip that it has happened on a couple of occasions in the past few weeks that Boyo has lifted his leg when he urinates. Matte is very proud of his little prince who is starting to grow up. He sees so looks awesome when he stands with his left hind leg half raised.

Did I mention that I'm a proud mother? 😀

I can too tell that Lilo is making progress, she too. When she started staying with me last fall, she hadn't been in Sweden very long. She walked with her tail well between her hind legs, and although I have never experienced her as insecure or nervous, there were many situations she had not experienced before she came here. However, it wasn't long before the tail started to emerge – and now she likes to have it above back height and is very proud of herself.

I can inform that I am also very proud of her. It's crazy to see a dog with such a crappy background as her, develop in the way I think she has. Is she a perfect dog? No, certainly not. She is a tease like no other when it comes to Boyo – she really loves to tease and start mischief, just because she can. Also, she's a little bad at this eye contact thing – but even there she has started to get significantly better lately.

Sist, but not least shall I gossip about my new shoes. The muppets took it upon themselves to chew up my dog walking shoes last Saturday while I was in the shower. I ordered home a new pair that arrived Monday evening (quick as hell – love Budbee!). I've been spoiled for the last X number of years with shoes I don't get chafing from, so I put them on when we went for the long walk. After about half way I have water blisters on both heels, but no patches at all at home. Yesterday I got chafing plasters and regular plasters, and thought a little presumptuously that I would go with my new shoes because chafing plasters are supposed to be so good I've heard.

Let me enlighten that the blister on the right heel is now a red sore instead. Now there won't be any shoes with heels for at least a couple of days. Oh my God, how stupid you can be sometimes. #facepalm
