In Memoriam
I have been lucky enough to live with the Swedish Armed Forces' Ella for ten years. On the day she was ten years and three months old. Before the summer heat hit in June 2019 she had to end her life in my arms.
I started as feed host for Ella. The 29 april 2009 I and one of my best friends went to Örebro working dog club where the Armed Forces suited a bunch of puppies to as many expectant feed hosts, including me.
Oh my God, how cute she was. Oh my God, how small she was. And my God, what energy she had, how small she was. It was not significantly reduced either, before she got old. Even then, she had more energy than most dogs.
Me and Ella has had such a relationship that everyone wants but can be blessed. Even if our life together did not turn out quite as I had imagined, yet we have always been a radar pair. It is so awesome to be a part of.
To live with a Swedish Armed Forces bred dog is not a dance on roses. It is incredibly stressful to handle the high energy, the extreme will to do things all the time. But it's so cool to live with an individual who is as genuinely happy and cheerful as my Ella has been all her life.
My Beloved, loved Ella. As different as we have been, it's a miracle that we made it work. But I have never loved anyone as much as I loved you. You have taught me more than I could ever dream of. I will always have you closest to my heart.
With love,
matte
