Today, the kitties and I met for the first time the groenendaelen Karma, who came here to visit with her mother. I will hang out with Karma while her mother finishes her studies – Want to say; a few days a week for the next couple of weeks.

Purely in terms of appearance she actually reminds me a bit of Ella. She is quite thin (although you don't see it because of the fur), have as kind eyes as my Ella, and then that black fur.
But about there the similarities end.
My dog has always thought she was a steamroller. She has sort of pushed her way through life where she couldn't rush forward. She has demanded attention and entertainment.
Karma is one completely different kind of dog.
Where Ella's energy lay roughly just below the roof of the universe, I experienced Karma as very soft and gentle, low energy, young girl. She is exactly two years old, but was very calm and careful in his exploration of the apartment. If Ella had been in her paws, she would have made the whole apartment unsafe within a maximum of two seconds. Karma took her time and walked around calmly and carefully, smelling herself. She was particularly interested in Ella's place on the sofa.
She wanted too make the cats play with her. It probably went a bit like that, one might say. Neither Zoe nor Molly were particularly interested. However, I think both little girls were impressed to meet a dog that doesn't rush straight up their ass to serve as their private bidet.
It has been one week and a day since Ella left me now. During the week, I have been impressed with myself for coping so well. It wasn't until today when Karma and her mom came here that I realized how terribly I miss having a dog. Ideally, I would like to have my Ella, but for obvious reasons it is not possible.
But I believed not that I would miss it to the extent that I actually do. Just the presence of a dog makes me feel more at peace, more balanced and get a completely different way of looking at and thinking about myself.
And even if I have decided to be a daycare teacher, don't make it so that I will miss my own (future) dog less. On the contrary.
What I think is as most interesting about this – and that will apply to all the dogs I may become daycare for, is that they are completely ordinary dogs. They are not defense force-bred German shepherds, which means they have normal energy levels and a normal attitude to activity. It will be so incredibly interesting to see how the hell I will work together with these dogs.
I who am used to Ella, as well as.
My steamroller. ♥
