puppy Thoughts, of the 2

I have already written a post about the things I need or want to invest in, for my puppy's homecoming (when it now becomes). This post I thought to devote to things I think are important, and which I will focus on in my puppy training. It is probably like most other people who get a dog, although maybe I think a little differently than you anyway. That remains to be seen. 🙂

dog's life

The most important thing for me is that my dog can be a dog, before it is something else. It means; dog before breed, and dog before employment. My dog should be allowed to be a dog and not a baby. Enough that I'm considering carrying it in a carrier up and down the stairs until it wants to and can walk on its own, but it's not a baby for that matter.

communication

For me it is significantly more important to communicate with my dog in as natural a way as possible, in front of training my dog. If I can communicate with my dog in a way it understands, training with clickers and sweets becomes redundant.

Med balans kommer förmågan att ta vettiga beslut från hundens sida, and it benefits both the dog and me.

This shall not underestimated. High energy dogs are not necessarily cute or funny. If you're unlucky, it turns into stress and hyperactivity instead. Regardless, a high-energy dog is quite difficult to handle.

Physical training

Efter att ha levt with an old dog who lost more and more muscle mass until she barely had any muscles at all, I'm feeling a little weird about this particular thing about my dog needing muscles to carry his (future) large and heavy body.

I know of some ways, but want and need to learn more so that I can help my dog get a muscular body that can bear weight, och dessutom kan skydda lederna från eventuellt överdrivet slitage.

Respekt

🙂 Stay tuned, good people! 😀
