I knew a long time ago that Lilo would be absolutely fantastic as a helper when it comes to Boyo. I was absolutely right about this, for her is absolutely fucking amazing. Today is the second day she has been here a full day, and she is so incredibly good at playing and raising him that I almost burst out. ♥
Not enough with that the entertainment value is extremely high, it is also very instructive to sit and watch when they misbehave. I have locked us in the kitchen, to limit the space for possible pee accidents (and we have had a few, but fewer than one might think). I have my office in here, and also two dog beds in different sizes. This is also where they romp and sleep during the day.
I have told that Lilo has started to show a lot of dominant traits, and it becomes even more evident when she targets Boyo. She pretends, I think, most older bitches do to puppies – is extremely patient, but lays him down on his side or back and grabs hold of him wherever she can (typ; some bone, over the head or something), she stands over him, she steals his rope knot and growls when he wants to take it – though she lets him steal it periodically, for the sake of justice.
Now it has it's been almost a week since I brought Boyo home, and a little while ago, before collapsing from exhaustion, He showed me something I hadn't seen before. They were still playing, and Lilo was in the smaller dog bed with the rope knot, and he stood and crouched against her back. As far as I know, this is a fairly dominant activity, which tells me that he might become quite dominant as an adult.
Apart from it is very entertaining (I really sit and laugh, because they have so much fun together) As I said, it was also very educational. I watch Lilo move especially closely, how she demands space, where on Boyo's body does she push to get him down on his side/back, how she turns her head and body away when she is disinterested… It is incredibly interesting to watch and learn from. ♥
Right now sleeping of. Lilo stal Boyos mindre hundsäng (and she looks gigantic in it, I can say) and snores like a truck driver, and Boyo has the large dog bed all to himself. Oh my God, how crazy they are.
I could really can't be more satisfied than I am right now. I am so incredibly happy to have Lilo here; partly because she helps me, but also because it is so instructive to see them together.
It's in everyone cases incredibly rewarding to have them both here and together. I suspect I will learn as much as I can, and for that I am grateful. ♥
Incidentally, it will be Boyo is nine weeks old today. He has gotten bigger, but above all heavier. It shows when I carry him up the stairs, I can say. We'll see how long it takes before my back goes off. 😀
