I do not know if the question of balance is so important to me because I have such a hard time maintaining it in a natural way for my own part. For those balanced by themselves it may not be as important, and you think even dog would rather have fun than live in balance.
My personal conviction is that a dog living in balance can have fun, But a dog whose life is about having fun not automatically lives in balance. I know what I would prefer, and what I actively work on for my own part – and for my dog. It is to live in balance, For when you live in balance the fun goes never overpower.
It really is nothing wrong with letting his dog have fun. But there is a big difference in letting their dog “have fun” By letting it do whatever it wants without restrictions, and to give the freedom under responsibility. I read somewhere, on any forum, a woman who wrote about her dog that it always went on a long leash and had to do what it wanted, and it felt so good so good and was so happy.
I see and have set, only here in the area where I live, at least two people who more or less always sound their (small) Dogs go loose. One of them means that “the dog must be allowed to be a dog”, but have totally missed that the absence of rules, restrictions and a fixed form of existence instead of making the dog happy, created a small monster.
Just that dog I think about is no longer there, But as long as I have known dog + person, Has the dog been extremely unpleasant. That the dog was unpleasant had nothing to do with the dog, but depended entirely on man's attitude and how the dog was treated and managed.
I don't know About the word “balance” means different things to different people, But I was going to draw a brief explanation for what it means to me and why I think it has the same meaning when it comes to dogs.
For me, shopping Balance on the ability to deal with experiences, No matter what form or content they have. It doesn't matter if the experiences happen a dog or a human being – They are still to be handled and processed. The better ability we have to do just that, the better balance we have. Balance is also about not flapping between extremes in terms of energy, lust, the differences between feeling good and feeling bad, and so on.
For me like live with bipolar disorder i can say that balance is like a holy grail. It is not there naturally for me, and periodically I have to fight hard to deal with things that happen in a sensible way.
People and dogs does not handle and process things in the same way. I remember when I first brought Ella down to town, When she was a puppy. She was only around eight, maybe ten weeks old, and wanted to hide behind my legs as we stood looking at people and buses. I deliberately stepped aside, In order for her to meet and manage the situation on her own. For me it is important for the dog to do. I'm not leaving the dog unattended, and i'm there in the background as support.
The same thing has I experienced with above all lilo. When Lilo began to be with me she was above cars. Her math had been extremely careful in her environmental training, and lilo had not crossed the parking lot at the icab shop a short distance from here. On our first walk together I brought Lilo with me and marched straight across the parking lot, Without any problems whatsoever. We can still stop at a busy road, Just to look at the cars.
Now lilo is one Extremely stable dog, Despite its awkward background as a breeding stitch on a puppy mill, and that, of course, facilitates. But as I wrote in any of my first posts about her – she is not a nervous dog, Without very stable and steady. There is a difference in being nervous in a situation, and to have nervousness as a basic feeling in the body.
To return to that with having fun and living in balance, and why the latter is preferable. If you only devote yourself to having fun, it is easy for it to be overpowered and become such that the house/math does not think is as fun as the dog does. On the other hand, it is both sensible and healthy to offer their dog a framework to work in, as well as a stable and balanced support for it to lean against when needed.
From this foundation Can you then let the dog have fun, men “Funny” is not a condition that is healthy for someone to be in – Not in the long run. Not in the way we think a dog should “have fun” or “the dog must be allowed to be a dog”, in all cases. It does not matter which species we belong to; There are frameworks and social contexts to work in everywhere, and whether one is a dog, person, frog or something else you need to learn, and also stay within these frameworks and contexts. If you do not, it will be consequences – so it is for us humans too.
And that is well anyway what we want? That our dogs should work in society? That they should be so balanced that they themselves can figure out what is appropriate to do or not to do in different situations. It obviously requires them to learn what is ok and not ok – and to be tedious; This is where I believe that upbringing is more effective than training their dog to curse. We do not train our children in the same way we train our dogs; We raise our children.
…
For me comes Always to be most important to offer my dog a safe and stable existence. I believe hard on a solid form of life is preferable to allow the dog to do what it wants, behave anyway, Most of the time I push it away “it must be allowed to be a dog” or to “let it have fun”.
Such a setting risks causing stress in the dog, and a stressed dog is not feeling well. In turn it can cause a row with problem behaviors, and that is so incredibly unnecessary.
