But, my God

I'm going fucking insane. Now he has another round of crappy stomach, my poor Boyo. Today I woke up to a bedroom full of diarrhea, including in my bed. I dipped my foot in it before I managed to pry my eyes open and see the misery. The day has consisted of laundry and bedroom cleaning. TVI! 🙁

Various pictures from three different occasions.

This is like the only thing I find really difficult about Boyo – that he gets diarrhea at about four, five week intervals. He had a turn about a month ago, and after that turn, he's still pretty skinny. And so now, when, another turn. He has pooped more porridge today, although later in the evening, and I hope it won't be more indoors, because it's no fun to clean up.

I do not think that my dog is sick. I think he has a sensitive stomach, and that it's either that he can't handle the food I give him (although he does – for a few weeks), or he stuffs himself with something stupid that makes him sick. So far I haven't seen any pattern in this, dock, and I haven't been able to figure out what it could possibly be in the food that causes him to poop.

Someone recommended raw food, and the thought struck me. Unfortunately, there are some practical drawbacks to it; it is expensive, it takes place, and I would have to invest in another freezer as the one I have is crammed with my own food.

Right now have I just a few things I wish for Boyo. I wish he gets to eat properly, But above all – shit nice and neat, and also continuously. I wish he escaped all this diarrhea, because if it's not fun for me, it's even less fun for him. Then I also wish that he could absorb the nutrition he gets, and actually gain some weight. As said was; after the last turn, he is quite thin (but thankfully not skinny), and the food he has eaten for a couple, three weeks (Doggy Original) doesn't seem to stick to him in terms of pounds.

In short; I want my dog to be well. Now, I don't necessarily think he's unwell; he is alert and happy, he drinks well, he has energy and zest for life, the fur is great (even though he fells), and he enjoys life.

And just for that I wrote about raw food, I had to google it again. Have looked through some information and found a place that sells both raw food as well as actually some dry food which at first sight might work. In addition, they were not quite as expensive as some brands on the market are.

Now there is certainly those who think that as a dog owner you should be prepared to shell out thousands of kroner for food, and you are free to think that if you think it feels good. Personally, I am of the opinion that an expensive price does not automatically mean that it will work well for my particular dog, and if I find a cheaper feed that actually works, I intend to use it.

But I will actually take a closer look at this raw food. Either I can buy it ready, or I have to do it myself. I can also imagine combining raw food with dry food, so that the raw becomes a bit like “topping”, typ. But I'm far from having made up my mind, so we'll see what happens. It should also be added that I am quite lazy, then I find a dry food that works and that Boyo does well (and feel good about) then I will use it.

…

Otherwise can I tell you that since about a week Boyo is nine months old. He and Mozart, the mix between Leonberger and Berner Sennen, are roughly the same height. Mozart is slightly higher, but he is also just over two months older – so it is not entirely unlikely that they will be about the same height in the end. Boyo has also been releasing fur since quite some time ago, which is terrible at home. But he doesn't let go at all in the same way as Ella, which is actually quite grateful. Time will tell if it is a one-off, or if there is a difference in how boys and girls shed fur.
