Dog walks and cyclists

Before I get into clean, Cutting Klagosång I just want to apologize for blogging so little this past month. There are several reasons for it, Among other things I dealt with some other. I collaborate with Fenrir Canine Leaders in Great Britain, and there has been a lot to do this month. But also because I had Lilo so much here at home. She is a very easy dog to have, but the constant uncertainty of how long she will stay, or when I'm needed the next time takes its right.

But enough about that. Now I thought I'd dedicate a post to bursting into lament. This time over the phenomenon cyclists. Above all cyclists in Västerås, where I live.

Is there anything Cyclists here in Västerås are completely useless, so is using one's alarm clocks. There's a reason there's a bell on the bike – it is so that you can ping it and warn pedestrians that you are coming from behind. It's not hard to do, it doesn't take long, it is not physically demanding.

Nevertheless, it is damn hardly a bastard who does that.

And it makes me insane. Now, I basically always have one or two dogs with me when I'm out – it is extremely rare that I go out without a dog. But no matter how many dogs I have with me, I believe that it is the cyclist's damn duty to inform me that he is about to overtake me. It's not like I automatically hear a bicycle. It depends very much on how much noise there is around me, if the asphalt he is cycling on is dry or wet, if there are a lot of people or traffic nearby, and so on. And I don't actually have eyes in the back of my neck – no one has.

Enough to On the whole, I'm quite anti when it comes to people, but seriously – bikers must really be fucking stupid in their heads. How can you think and believe that it is ok to cycle past someone, just because you can? How can you be so full of faith in yourself and your ability to read a situation, that you don't believe that one or two dogs walking on a long leash, in flexi-coupling or something, will not result? How can you believe that a dog – or for that matter, a child, will not rush across the cycle lane when arriving, if you are not from a distance, you warn people that you are coming, so that he can take the dog in to the side?

It has thanks and thank goodness nothing unfortunate has ever happened when I've been out with one of my or other people's dogs, but it doesn't really matter. That cyclists here in town have the extremely ugly habit of not warning me and other dog walkers, is not just rude, it's arrogant and downright dangerous. Both cyclist and dog(ar) can get bad if the dog dares to rush across the cycle path, make a lunge or invent another way just as a cyclist passes.

Moreover, it is so that some dogs are easily startled when things appear from behind. Lilo is such a dog. She doesn't always react, but sometimes she gets very surprised and jumps backwards or sideways quite a bit, when someone rides by. Boyo is not surprised – on the other hand, he would like to think about chasing that cyclist. He has a tendency to want to chase both hares, birds, cats, cyclists, people who jump, skateboards, cars… not entirely enjoyable, If you say so.

My personal opinion is that cyclists in this town should be ashamed. In other words, for real – the eyes are ashamed. If it weren't so terrible for a possible dog, I wish there would be an accident somewhere in town, which is inflated in the media, and where everything is the cyclist's fault.

USE YOUR DAMN ALARMS, FOR THE HELL!!!

And yes, i will be shitty. I really think it's rude, ohyfsat – and arrogant. Just because you think you know that you can pass without incident, does not mean that the person you pass is of the same opinion. Or that the dogs are (above all!).

Then it is exactly the same way as when driving a car; you can be any good at driving (or cycling). This does not mean that your fellow road users are as good at it as you. Never trust anyone else to do the right thing. Assume that an accident may occur. Take care to prevent and preempt as far as possible. And – BE WARNED THAT YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY! Cars have blinkers. Bicycles have bells. How damn hard can it be?

And yes, this makes me very upset. I don't want to see my dogs hurt because you couldn't use your goddamn doorbell, that sits on YOUR bike for a reason. I like to let my dogs walk on a long leash if there is no bike nearby. I would very much like to know when you will be there on your bike, so that I can bring the dogs in so that there will be no craziness.

But that assumes that you inform me that you are there. Would you be so damn kind to do that?

Tack.
