A year with Boyo

And! Today – or, yesterday, If one is to be tricky – It is actually one at night.. But yesterday it was a year ago in the day since I sat on the train to Malmö to pick up my puppy that I did not meet. My eight-week Pip-Larsson (first nickname already on the train home) who thought it was pretty hard to move away from home.

One year has gone fast, And there has been an incredible amount of water under the bridges since I undertook my trip to pick up Boyo. It was not at all what I had imagined – I had not planned at all to get one to shepherd after Ella. But then it was, And now I'm standing here with my good young dog.

He became room clean Quickly, Min Boyo. Although we have had a row of accidents after that – for the most part because of his naughty stomach that caused various piles (or perhaps rather puddles) With brown, stinking mourning on the floors a bit here and was. Thankfully we have found a feed that works – Although he can still shit a little softly and sometimes mushy. But for the most part he shits pretty neatly. The rest I guess depends on hormones.

I have thought my dog is right blown. And compared to Ella, it is very easy to perceive him as both blown and sluggish. But the more time we spend together, and the more of the unstained young dog brain he finds back to, the more I realize he is not actually blown. On the contrary – he is probably pretty smart. The difference between him and Ella is that Ella was so terribly fast in the skull. She took things before I got on them myself, and she was about to do the next thing even before she was able to clear the first. It is incredibly difficult to catch up with such a dog. Boyo is in a completely different way. He needs one or a few seconds to understand what I want him to do. It makes it great for me that, after all, is not an expert at training dog (in more advanced stuff than its, lie, stay and so on).

Plant, he has done too, The little racker. When he first met Lilo – the day after we got home, could he go under her stomach – with plenty of space. Now is the opposite. Lilo can run under his stomach, And it actually looks terribly funny. He is still a bit thin, But I think it's better that he's a little thin and takes time to gain weight, than that he goes up too fast. But there is plenty of room for him to put on – Last time I tried to measure him I got 71 cm in height. He is no little guy, Boyo.

On numbers about Boyo and lilo so i am incredibly happy for the sake of both that they have each other. Given Lilo's background before coming to Sweden (Avel plug on puppy mill) so I really think it has been great for her to have her own puppy no one takes away from her. And for Boyo – He has had an extra mom who is now his best friend.

In the past I have written about my role in Boyo's life is quite small, and that I just exist for him and Lilo to have somewhere to be. It is a view that begins to change. I think it depends on a couple of things; partly Lilo's math has given me the weekends free (she is working weekend now and then) so that I get more alone with Boyo, On the one hand, he starts to regain some understanding and willingness to work so that we can train some contact and so on. It may not sound like so much, But for me and Boyo makes it a huge difference.

Last today, when Lilo's math came and picked her up, she said she was so impressed with how quiet Boyo has been just the last week. Because of the weather she picks up Lilo up, so we'll not have to stand outside and freeze and wait, And even if the dogs bused off pretty much immediately when we opened the door, so Boyo is actually capable of calming down and finally laying down. He couldn't before that. And that is so incredibly gratifying, For this young dog time is really unbearable, and it is so incredibly easy to believe that it is yourself that is wrong with, that one is the world's worst math who cannot nurture one's dog.

But now begins I think there might be somewhat sensible by him in the end, still. And that I am so incredibly grateful for.

Then it is after all in the name of honesty so that there is long way to go. We are still working on contact exercises on walks, and he is still easily distracted in absurdum when he sees something exciting in hold. But just that it actually gets better makes a huge difference – At least for me. I realize that he is only fourteen months, So there is plenty of time left for him to continue teenage truncals. But the occasions when he hears what I say and understand what I want to convey – Oh, what i am pleased to have a sensible, adult dog eventually. ♥

And think anyway – a whole year together. It's not wise. Not to mention how completely insane it is to go from Västerås to Malmö, round trip on one and the same day, To pick up a puppy you have not met. Oh my God. But I did that. And I am incredibly happy that I did.

I'll probably never to cease mourning and missing my ella. But Boyo is starting to take more and more space, and when that day comes, Will I mourn and miss him as much. And even though they both are shepherds, I notice that they have very different things to teach me. Boyo brings out other pages in me that Ella did not, And on the contrary. It's actually pretty awesome.
