Robert Cabral is an American dog trainer at high level. I haven't followed him very long, But I like a lot of what I see and hear from him. He trains dogs (and their people) In various different branches, He trains other dog trainers, and also helps to train dogs on shelters before adoption.
What I like most With Robert Cabral his attitude is that one must look at hela the dog, and that dog training is just a piece of cake. I myself am neither knowledgeable nor advanced to be able to interpret how the food dog eats affects body and bud – But it is knowledge that would be fun to have, If only my own brain was the way it took on that kind of information. 😀
I like too That Robert Cabral is engaged in positive reinforcement in the training he carries with dogs, But also uses corrections. I just listened to one of his pod section, where someone asked a question about what correction is for him, to which he replied that a correction is to inform the dog that it is doing just right now is not the driver asked the dog to do. A correction can be verbal or physical, but should never be violent or threatening, only informative.
Cabral does not work Only with dog training, And I think that's why I got stuck for him. In my opinion, far too many people train their dogs to far too high, and somehow forget that the dog needs to be a dog before it is anything else. There is a difference in training dog and teaching the dog working, Especially at home/indoors.
As well as one not have to follow any of the other dog people I have told about so far, Do you need either like or follow Robert Cabral. But I actually believe that in principle every single man can learn something from him. I don't like everything he says, And like all other Americans, I feel that he has very high thoughts about himself in a way we are not used to here in Sweden. But it does not assume that he has things to say that very many would benefit from listening to.
If I were recommend something special with Robert Cabral it is probably his podcast (which can also be seen on Youtube). There he can talk at its most, and one gets out most of listening (He is quite talkative and quite flabby in his talk).
My personal The perception is that Robert Cabral is very skilled and well worth the time you spend on listening/watching/reading.
