The name is decided!

Now I have decided. Finally, after several days of thinking. If I didn't already have white hairs on my scalp, I would have by now. They may have become more, I haven't looked that closely, actually. 😀 But at least I have decided what my puppy will be called, and I'm super happy.

Boyo.

My puppy will so that Boyo. This is a name I've been thinking about for a long time. It's been quite a while since I decided that I wanted a male dog, and for lack of better things to do, I've been thinking about what to call him. Boyo has been a strong alternative for a long time, and although there are other good and strong alternatives, let it happen to this particular puppy who will later become an adult dog.

I like Boyo. It's short, but two-syllable, sits well in the mouth, easy to say and hopefully easy to shine. I have a tendency to cross vision, hearing, taste and feel, and this name sounds and tastes like dark brown chocolate with such a high cocoa content that it becomes dry, in my ears.

And that is important to me. Not that the name sounds like dark brown chocolate, so specific, but it is important that the name gives off positive vibes. Over the years with Ella, I have known at least one dog with a name that only gives off negative vibes, and that is not positive for anyone. Even if that is not the purpose, it creates expectations in the human that the dog then feels obliged to live up to. In one of the cases I can think of, the dog was also very unpleasant (though it probably had less to do with the name and more to do with how his human handled the dog).

Another advantage is that it doesn't sound like a command, and that it also doesn't resemble any of the other dogs that abound in my life. Boyo doesn't sound like Lilo at all, Flocks, stay, Mysak or Mozart.

Above all doesn't it remind me of Ella. Not in the slightest. It has been very important to me. There are several names that start with E that I think are beautiful, but I didn't want it that way. Ella must have her name, and Boyo must have his, without risking me mixing them up. I want them to be their own individuals, and that it should be clear even through the names. There are enough dogs and names to keep track of anyway.

The fact is that I'm a little ridiculous when it comes to names. I think I wrote about it in a previous post, but then, letters in a certain order give a certain impression. Billy says one thing, while Cesar says another. Hades, Killer and Diablo give negative vibes while Lova, Tuva and Vilda say something completely different.

It has been a process to decide on Boyo. In retrospect, I think it was an unnecessary process – it's still a name I thought about for a long time. But now it happened, and that's ok, that with. Now I soon have a dog called Boyo, and I couldn't be more satisfied and happy.
