Assessment difficulties

There is a lot of nagging about old dogs now, but you simply have to live with it. Yesterday when I went to bed I was quite sad before I managed to fall asleep. There are many thoughts that crowd into the skull, and today I'm going to write a little about a thought I haven't covered much.

I have told that Ella is a high-energy dog. As in ridiculously over-the-top energetic. This is something that makes it quite difficult for me to assess what condition she is actually in.

My personal opinion is that she is in pretty bad shape. But at the same time I can understand that it can be difficult to see if you don't know her very well. She still gets very happy when she meets people she knows, regardless of whether it is at home or outdoors. When she is happy, she easily becomes a little hysterical, and then you don't necessarily see that she is lame.

But to others page again; just in the last few months even people we know in the neighborhood where we live have said that it is both visible and noticeable that she is not quite herself. Although seeing them makes her happy as hell, she can't keep going for more than five minutes at most. Then she lies down.

It's incredible difficult to judge a dog's actual condition when the energy level hides at least parts of the poor physique, the bad mood and so on. Now I feel lucky to know my dog as well as I do. I can feel through the leash when we are out if there is a difference in the way she walks. I see the slightest change in the way she holds her body. I see how tight she is in the front legs indoors.

Still experiencing I like that Incredible hard to judge just how bad she is.

That Ella's friend had to fall asleep the other day was a real one wake up-call. It suddenly became even more real that my dog won't live forever, and that soon I won't have my muppet left.

Most of the time I push it away. I'm banging. The only positive is that I am better at handling my feelings about this than I was a few years ago.
